Dr. Know

This is a web site of old historical reference images, partly to preserve the existence of the images and partly to make it possible to figure out whom the people are. By assigning a name to a face of a person on one photo – other photos of the same person can be tracked down, and slowly a lot of photos of unknown persons are not so unknown anymore.

The same thing can also be done to landscapes and to houses. A house could change a lot because doors are changed; windows are changed and so forth. Yet the overall appearence of a house changes very slowly.

The main purpose for the site is therefore to categorize the images so other people can find them, to make it possible to track them through time and space and to make a digital safe repository so they aren't completly lost if they are destroyed by some accident.

The name of the site is a reference to the librarian in the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

This site has limited access as it is still in development. It is likely the plattform will be changed from a modified Gallery to a MediaWiki with extensions.

The name of the site will most likely change too.
