This is a genealogy and historical website utilizing MediaWiki to make it easy to add and update information.

To facilitate efficient upload and retreival of genealogy data the MediaWiki motor is augmented with a special extension, allowing easy addition to and extraction from a genealogy database.

Because of the inherit problems with traceability in this kind of research all users who contribute has to be logged in. This is different from a wikipedia-type of use. The users can also register interests in specific pages or categories, thereby being able to keep an eye on several pages. This is important to verify the quality of the added material.

The license to be used for this site is yet to be decided but it is likely to be a creative commons license.
